Glory brings Petrosyan to New York
The heads of Glory, one of the best martial arts organizations in the world, which primarily focuses on fights under K-1 rules, definitely have some big plans for the United States and want to become a major force on the UFC’s turf.
On Tuesday evening (CET), an upcoming Glory event to be held in North America was announced. Once again it will be hosted by New York, the city where the UFC has been trying to get to for years, but is not legally permitted to do so.
The leading star of the Glory event in America’s biggest city will be the excellent Italian-Armenian fighter Giorgio Petrosyan, who was its champion in the under-70 kg weight class having won the respective tournament. This time it will be a lightweight division tournament, but so far it is unknown whether four or eight fighters will participate and who are the remaining participants.
Prior to its return to New York, Glory will hold its upcoming events in Los Angeles and Chicago.
