Mayweather: “I can make $300 million in 36 minutes from McGregor fight”
Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor boxing match will rake in a huge amount of money for both fighters.
“I mean, am I the highest-paid athlete out there? And just coming back? We not talking about no contract,” Mayweather said in a clip of Showtime’s “All-Access” show“We not talking about no contract for no four years or no contract for no five years. I can do it in 36 minutes. $300 (million) or better. In 36 minutes.”
Just days before the first press tour in Los Angeles in mid-July, it was reported that Floyd Jr. also owed an undisclosed amount to the IRS, stemming from unpaid taxes dating back to 2015. Mayweather had supposedly asked for an installment agreement from the U.S Tax Court, citing that he would be paying the remaining balance after the August 26th fight.
Mayweatherdispelled these talks by flaunting a wad of cash.
“I’m not hurting,” Mayweather said while asking for “the bag”. “I’m far from hurting. I got paper. I can’t say what Conor McGregor is doing, I can’t say what the UFC is paying him. But every month, I make millions.”
“So back like I was saying, before the money interrupted us, they call me ‘Money Mayweather for a reason,’” he continued. “I’mma get it, regardless.”
Mayweather vs. McGregor takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 26th and will be broadcasted via Showtime Sports.
