Exactly two years ago, on February 27, 2013 legendary "Diamond" Ramon Dekkers died at the age of 43.
Reports indicate that Dekkers rode a bicycle in his hometown of Breda, he got sick, collapsed and died. Passers-by tried to help him before the ambulance came, but unfortunately without success.

Ramon Dekkers was eight-time world champion in Muay Thai and the most popular foreigner who ever fought in Thailand. He was crucial person in the evolution of this sport.

Dekkers returned to the ring in 2005 after his farewell match in 2002 in which he defeated Marino Deflorin. In his last two matches he defeated Duane „Bang“ Luwdig, but in his last bout that took place in May 2006 at K-1 Grand Prix in Amsterdam he lost to Joerie Mes via judges' decision.

He will be remembered as one of the best stand-up fighters in the history and a man who made a revolution in this sport!
