Bellator’s new sigining revealed
Bellator have this morning thrown a curve ball with the announcement that former England and Lions rugby union flanker, James Haskell has signed with the promotion.
After announcing his retirement from Rugby in May this year, Haskell has been unveiled by Bellator Europe and welcomed into the heavyweight division. With no fight news confirmed yet, Haskell is 6’4″ and 260-pounds and will be introduced to international audiences next week with a press conference scheduled in for Wednesday.
Having worked as an MMA pundit for BT Sport, Haskell has trained at London Shootfighters, home to the likes of Michael Venom Page, Mike Shipman and Galore Bofando, to name but a few.
This is a bold move from Bellator and one that remains to be seen whether the transition from rugby to MMA proves successful, however Haskell is certainly an imposing character and obviously has something in him for Bellator to snap up his signature.
