Amedovski v Phillips

The announcements for UFC Fight Night Copenhagen are coming thick and fast at the moment with a middleweight clash between John Phillips and Alen Amedovski confirmed earlier today.

Macedonian, Alen Amedovski (8-1) will be making his second appearance in the UFC following his first defeat as a professional at the hands of Krzysztof Jotko (unanimous decision) in April on the UFC Fight Night Saint Petersburg card. Fighting out of American Top Team Rome, Amedovski has two Bellator victories under his belt prior to his move to the UFC. First-round finishes against Ibrahim Mané and Will Fleury bought the UFC knocking on his door in what is his most active period* as a professional.

Standing in the way of a first win in the UFC for Amedovski is a man also seeking out his first UFC victory. With three straight defeats in his UFC career, John Phillips (21-9) knows all to well that this is a make or break fight. After defeats against Jack Marshman, Kevin Holland and Charles Byrd, Phillips will be hellbent on getting that first Octagon win and will no doubt come out with the sole intention of finishing Amedovski in quick fashion.
