Guillard fractures fist in his Bellator debut
Last weekend Melvin Guillard failed to score a victory in his Bellator debut. He was defeated by excellent wrestler Brandon Girtz via judges’ decision in the main-event of Bellator 141.
Girtz dominated almost the entire match and forced his opponent to fight on the ground. Guillard’s only highlight happened before the end of the match when he KO’ed his opponent. However, Girtz managed to cover up and make it to the end.
One of the factors that definitely made an impact on the former UFC fighter’s performance was his fractured fist. He sustained the fist injury at the beginning of the second round and did most of the match using mostly his other fist. According to Guillard’s camp, the American fighter will have to undergo a surgery in the upcoming days. It is not known how long his recovery is going to take.
