LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) president Ed Soares announced today that the RFA will return to Minnesota in July. The main event of RFA 40 will feature an explosive flyweight showdown between two of the division’s top fighters. Top prospect Czar “The Gunfighter” Sklavos will meet eight-time UFC vet Chico “The King” Camus. RFA 40 – Sklavos vs. Camus will take place Friday, July 15th at the Mystic Showroom inside the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

“RFA will return to Minnesota in July with an exciting headliner,” stated Soares. “Czar Sklavos and Chico Camus are two of the sport’s top flyweights and they are both coming off big wins in the RFA. Sklavos vs. Camus is one of the year’s marquee flyweight match-ups. Mark your calendars now for RFA 40 on Friday, July 15th.”

Sklavos (12-4) returns to the RFA Octagon after showing the world why he is one of MMA’s top ranked flyweight prospects. In the co-main event of RFA 27, Sklavos defeated Nick Burgos in his home state of Idaho via Unanimous Decision in an action-packed contest that allowed the dynamic flyweight to showcase his well-rounded skill set. “The Gunfighter” is now taking aim at one of the sport’s most proven flyweight veterans in what he hopes will be his coming out party at RFA 40.

“I can’t wait to get back out there and headline RFA 40,” stated Sklavos. “Chico Camus is a very good fighter, he’s well-rounded, and an eight-time UFC vet. It’s a golden opportunity for me to show the world what I can do against top competition. I will show everyone what I can do on July 15th.”

Camus (15-7) will return to the RFA Octagon after winning the main event of RFA 36 in March. The cagey Roufusport product and eight-time UFC veteran has faced some of the top names in the UFC flyweight and bantamweight divisions. “The King” used that world-class experience to earn a Unanimous Decision victory over Matt Brown in his RFA debut. He is now looking to continue that success against another one of the flyweight division’s top prospects.

“I’m excited to get back in there and scrap,” Camus explained. “Czar Skalvos is a talented opponent that likes to get in there and bang. Flyweight is the most exciting division, because we are fast and keep the fight moving. I’m ready to get in there and dance at RFA 40.”

The co-main event of RFA 40 will feature a war between two of the RFA bantamweight division’s most popular fighters. Marvin “The Terminator” Blumer (11-5) vs. Terrion “Flash” Ware (14-5) is a fight that RFA fans have been dreaming about for a long time. Blumer and Ware are widely respected as action-fighters that leave it all inside the cage. This is evident in the fact that they have both been nominated for “Fight of the Year” in the annual RFA Fans’ Choice Awards in bouts they won at RFA 19 and RFA 23 respectively. Now the time has come for these two pillars of the RFA bantamweight division to finally meet inside the RFA Octagon. As an added element of intrigue, Marvin is returning to the RFA Octagon after recovering from injuries to replace his identical twin brother Melvin Blumer, who was originally slated for this bout. Melvin was injured in a motorcycle accident last week and is currently recovering from a successful surgery to his leg.

RFA 40 will also feature a top-tier middleweight clash between highly touted prospects Chase Waldon (9-1) and Austen “Corndog” Heidlage (9-2). Waldon is currently riding an eight-fight win streak with his lone loss coming 6 years ago. The River Falls, Wisconsin native has also picked up a pair of wins in Legacy FC in his last two outings. He is now looking to make an impression in his RFA debut. He is tasked with facing a man who is also riding a considerable amount of momentum. The former Bellator main event fighter known as “Corndog” has stopped his last three opponents via TKO, which includes a second round TKO victory over nine-time UFC vet Eric Schafer last month in a light-heavyweight bout.

RFA 40 will also feature the return of Dan Moret (10-2) and Chad Curry (7-1). Moret is a five-time RFA vet that has won dominantly in his last three fights. The RFA featherweight mainstay will face undefeated Alex Gilpin (5-0). Moret and Gilpin both made their RFA debut three summers ago at RFA 8. They were both victorious that night and will finally lock horns at RFA 40. Curry, Minnesota’s top-ranked lightweight, will face Iowa Challenge lightweight champion Carl Wittstock (6-1).
