Immediately after the match against Jarrell Miller, Mirko Filipović made an official statement for Glory where he explained what happened to his elbow. He also made a statement about the match itself.

Mirko briefly sad what actually happened before the fight: „It was a good fight, but also quite stressful for me. A couple of weeks ago I hurt my elbow and got an infection. I took antibiotics and it went quite well, but after that I sustained another injury. But, luckily, I managed to perform because I did not want to cancel the fight and in the end everything turned out well.  Doctors advised me to cancel the fight but in the end I decided to fight.“

It wasn't easy to get to the show, but Mirko decided to keep quiet and wait for the doctors' decision. „I came to the medical check with this infection and I was lucky doctors checked other things and did not notice it because they would probably not let me fight. Luckily, they did not see it and I fought. I still have this infection and I have to get rid of it, but I'm happy it turned out this way. It was one of the most difficult periods in my career“, he explained.

In the end he also said something about the fight and his opponent: „Jarrel Miller is not a kickboxer, he doesn't know how to use his knees. He uses them to score points, but he doesn't do any damage. But he is a dangerous when it comes to punches and I had to be careful. I think he was about to fall twice when I pulled high kick, but he made it.“
