Glory 15

Exactly one year following the K-1 World Grand Prix Final produced by Fight Channel in Zagreb, the Croatian capital will once again be in the spotlight of the world martial arts scene. The head of Fight Channel, Orsat Zovko, is set to bring currently the biggest global kickboxing promotion, Glory World Series, to Arena Zagreb on March 8, 2014. Co-produced by Fight Channel, Glory 15 will take place in the city of Zagreb, and the event is to be headlined by Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic and Remy Bonjasky.

The Croatian ace and "The Flying Gentleman", as they call the legendary Dutch-Surinamese fighter, jointly hold an impressive four K-1 WGP belts in their collections and are generally regarded as two of the best fighters in the history of the sport.

This will be the Glory debut for Fillipovic after winning the K-1 World Grand Prix this year which rounded off his amazing return to kickboxing started in 2012 at the Cro Cop Final Fight event in Zagreb. In total, Filipovic has an impressive ten wins in a row, and his last kickboxing fight was in Arena Zagreb against Ismael Londt. This ten-win streak includes the one against Bonjasky in 2002 at the K-1 WGP in Fukuoka. On that occasion, Filipovic won by TKO in the second round and Bonjasky will now have a chance to retaliate.

"The Flying Gentleman" needs no special introduction as he is a triple K-1 WGP champion who throughout his career beat just about all of the best fighters in the business. His fists and dangerous knees brought down the likes of Gokhan Saki, Badr Hari (twice), Jerome Le Banner, Ray Sefo, Ernesto Hoost, Stefan Leko, Bob Sapp, Gary Goodridge, Mighty Mo… The list goes on and on, but suffices to say that he will reach the impressive figure of 96 professional fights in the Croatian capital. Cro Cop vs. Bonjasky is a martial arts treat that will undoubtedly make Zagreb the martial arts capital of the world on March 8, 2014.

Two more Croats will participate in the Zagreb event – Igor "The Istrian Warrior" Jurkovic and Mladen Brestovac. The former has been under contract with Glory for a while now, and he will be looking to bounce back in Zagreb following his loss in New York. Brestovac will make his debut in Glory and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that the giant from Zagreb simply must take.

The arrival of Glory WS to Zagreb is a major acknowledgement of Croatia as a recognized martial arts force, as well as of Fight Channel, which has risen to prominence over the two years of its existence as one of the world's best known TV brands specializing in martial arts. Following the production of the K-1 WGP Final, the cooperation with Glory serves as an additional testimony to the quality of past achievements and the trust awarded only to the world's best production companies.
