Cobat Press: Fedor inks a deal with UFC!
Fedor Emelianenko inked a deal with the UFC, as reported by combatpress.com, but it has not been confirmed by either of the sides as yet.
Sources close to the situation have told Combat Press that Fedor Emelianenko has officially signed with the UFC, with an official announcement set to be made in the coming weeks. According to the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, Emelianenko is currently looking at options for his Octagon debut.
Fedor Emelianenko had his last match in 2012 against Pedro Rizzo at M-1 Global and won via KO in the first round. After the match he said he decided to retire from the MMA. After posting a picture hinting his employer might be the UFC, Dana White just left a smiley emoticon as a comment and it was clear it was all just a matter of time.
Russian MMA Federation also reacted to the news, according to Combat Press.
“There were rumors on social networks that the name of the promotion Fedor will fight for has been revealed. In this moment, the contract has not been signed. As soon as we receive official information, the Russian MMA Federation will post it online“.
