Dana White praises Andrei Arlovski, but title shot will have to wait
Andrei Arlovski did his fourth UFC match after his comeback. Last weekend in Las Vegas the former champ defeated Frank Mir via decision. But is that enough to become a contender? Maybe not.
Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez will also fight at the beginning of the next year when it will be decided upon the following contender. Arlovski seemed to be the likely choice especially after his fourth consecutive win.
"What Andrei's done, coming back into the UFC and going on the run that he's gone on, it's amazing," White told reporters. "I mean, obviously he, you know, the judges gave him the decision tonight in this fight and his fight against Travis Browne was unbelievable. I don't know if many people picked Arlovski in that fight, but he's been on an incredible run and unfortunately this Heavyweight division is tied up right now."
When it comes to the official rankings, Arlovski i positioned right behind Stipe Miočić (3.) and Junior dos Santos (2.) It is obvious that one of them will get a chance to fight for the title first and Arlovski will have to wait for his turn.
