Fabricio Werdum signs eight-fight contract with UFC
Fabricio Werdum became UFC heavyweight champion after the UFC 188 win against Cain Velasquez. However, he has more reasons to be content.
Last year everything went just like Fabricio Werdum wanted. First, in November 2014, he became the interim champion after victory against Mark Hunt and then he fought for unified titles beat against Cain Velasquez.
The rematch should happen on February 6 at UFC 196, but Werdum has recently signed a new contract with the strongest global MMA promotion for new eight fights.
It was also confirmed by his manager Ali Abdel-Aziz.
“To be honest with you,” he said, “they didn’t have to do a new deal. We’re very thankful. [Werdum] wants to end his career as a UFC fighter, and the UFC was extremely supportive and generous.”
