JDS second happiest man in the UFC after Werdum’s win!
Fabrico Werdum united the heavyweight championship titles last weekend after he defeated Cain Velasquez. After his victory one of the happiest men alive was former champion Junior dos Santos, who now hopes to get another chance to fight for the belt.
Junior dos Santos was certainly one of the biggest supporters of Fabricio Werdum at UFC 188. Although he is ranked as No.2 UFC heavyweight fighter, it was hard to believe that he would get a second chance in the case of Velasquez's victory. The JDS entered the Octagon with Velasquez thrice already and their fourth match would make no sense. But this turn of events opens a new chance for him to attack the heavyweight title.
Junior dos Santos became champion when he KO'ed Velasquez in November 2011. He currently has a score of 17 wins and 3 losses while he suffered two losses from Velasquez. He fought Werdum in 2008 at UFC 90 which was his debut and when he won via stoppage in the first round. This could be an ideal opportunity for their rematch, but whether it will happen is up to Dana White.
