Jeremy Kimball claims 1st UFC win
Former FFC lightweight champion Jeremy Kimball kicked off his latest UFC match in Oklahoma City on Sunday with a huge right hand and hammer first, according to Gazette.com.
Kimball defended a takedown attempt from Josh Stansbury then seconds later landed a right followed by a huge right fist to the top of Stansbury’s head that dropped Stansbury.
Referee Mario Yamasaki finally stopped it at 1:21 of the first round after Campbell landed a dozen punches on the ground.
“This is huge,” Kimball told the UFC after the win.” … This is the Grizzly, OKC, this is the Grizzly, Baby.”
“Straight right hurt him,” Kimball told the UFC. “I know when people are hurt, so I had to go for the kill.”
Kimball was stopped in the first round (punches) by Marcos Rogerio de Lima in his UFC debut in January, a fight Kimball took on short notice.
