Lawler does not need a surgery, will be ready to fight at UFC 195
Robbie Lawler defended his welterweight title in a great match against Rory MacDonald at UFC 189 and now he was scheduled to defend the title again at UFC 193. However, he had to cancel his match with Carlos Condit due to an injury.
Because of a thumb injury Robbie Lawler had to step out of the defense title in the welterweight division at UFC 193. The good news is that Lawler does not need an operation which was confirmed for UFC Tonight by his manager Dave Martin. Lawler should be back in a month and he should be ready to fight by the UFC 195 that takes place on January 2, 2016 in Las Vegas.
This event was supposed to be headlined by Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm in the fight for the bantamweight title, but considering that Lawler got injured, their fight was re-scheduled to UFC 193 that is to take place in Melbourne.
Thus Lawler and Condit will headline UFC 195 with strawweight title fight between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Valerie Lotourneau.
