Struve to fight Mitrione at UFC 175
After doctors gave him the green light to go back into the ring, Stefan Struve found out where and when he is to fight first. He is to have a match at UFC 175 against Matt Mitrione.
16 months after his last fight in which he was defeated by Mark Hunt, Stefan Struve (25-6, 9-4 UFC) will fight in the UFC cage again. His next match is scheduled for July 5 at the UFC 175 Las Vegas. He is to fight against Matt Mitirone from the US.
A year ago, the situation for Struve did not look promising. Because of his heart problems, that is, birth defects, it was assumed that he would have to end his career. However, the rehabilitation has gone great and the doctors allowed Struve to fight again.
Matt Mitrione (7-3, all in the UFC) is a fighter who seemingly cannot make a step forward in his career, although he has been around all the time. After his UFC career started with a series of five victories, a decline followed and he was defeated in three following fights. However, this year’s match against Shawn Jordan returned him to the spotlight and he could earn a place among the Top 15 heavyweight fighters shall he defeat Struve.
The UFC 175 will be headlined by the match between Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida who are to fight for the UFC middleweight title.
