Cub Swanson

Cub Swanson scored six consecutive victories which emphasized the fact that he is to be the next one in line to fight for the featherweight challenger title. However, it seems that he will have to do another though match before that.

The UFC management is currently negotiation on Swanson vs. Frankie Edgar match. The former lightweight champion will be another step on Swanson’s way to his goal.

After defeating Jeremy Stephens in his last match, Swanson (21-5) perhaps hoped he will get to fights for the title against the winner of Jose Also vs. Chad Mendes match. However, this match was rescheduled and it became clear that Swanson can have only one match by the end of the year. This match could be against Edgar (17-4-1).

They are both said to agree on the match in November or September, but is it still possible for it to happen at UFC Fight Night 53 that is to take place September 4 in Sweden. The event still does not have the headlining fight and it is quite possible that it will be headlined by Swanson and Edgar.
