White: Bigfoot deserves rematch with Velasquez
A few days ago, Dana White delighted the entire MMA world by revealing that the two main events at UFC 160 will feature heavyweights Cain Velasquez, Antonio Silva, Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem.
Cain and Antonio will face each other again after their bout in May last year, which ended pretty quickly.
Everything was over already in the first half of round one when the referee stopped the fight due to a technical knockout by Velasquez. It was also one of the bloodiest fights in recent UFC history.
There is concern that something like this could happen to Bigfoot again, but Dana White thinks that Silva still deserves the rematch due to his spectacular knockout win over heavily favored Alistair Overeem.
"It’s tough to not say he shouldn’t get another shot at the title. I mean, I think everyone pretty much felt that way after the fight. If you sit there and look at the guys who are in the heavyweight division who are next, how do you say he doesn’t deserve it? Alistair Overeem was the guy a lot of people believed could go in there and win that title, and Bigfoot weathered his storm and viciously knocked him out. The guy deserves the shot," UFC president explained.
