With the weekend fast approaching, the MMA world is again treated to another potential action-packed weekend of MMA. From England’s second city to the Indonesian metropolis of Jakarta, what does the weekend have in store for us?

ONE Championship: Dawn of Valor

After a the hugely successful and historic ONE: Century in Japan, ONE Championship kicks things off tomorrow with the usual mix of world class MMA, kickboxing and muay Thai. Taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia, the main event will see welterweight champion Zebaztian Kadestam take on Kyrgyz challenger Kiamrian Abbasov. The co-main event sees an all Dutch clash for the lightweight kickboxing title as Regian Eersel takes on Nieky Holzken.

The first part in another Bellator double weekender sees two heavyweight veterans square off in the main event.  Frank Mir (18-13) collides with Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson (23-17) as Bellator 231 hits Uncasville on Friday night. The main card also features a light-heavyweight showdown between Phil Davis and Karl Albrektsson as well as the next fight for former WWE man, Jake Hager.

UFC Fight Night: Maia vs Askren

Two decorated grapplers enter the Octagon on Friday night as the UFC heads to Singapore. Following the indignity of being on the receiving end of the fastest KO in UFC history, the man the people love to hate, Ben Askren, returns to action. Hoping to last longer than the five seconds of cage time last time out against Jorge Masvidal, Askren faces 4th degree BJJ black belt and all round grappling master, Demian Maia. Will Askren get back to winning ways or will Maia further dent the former ONE Championship mans UFC plans?

Cage Warriors makes a return to the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham on Saturday night as local hero Jai Herbert makes his first defence of his lightweight title against American, Cain Carrizosa. The main card also sees the return of fan favourite and former featherweight champion, Dean Trueman. He faces the dangerous Frenchman Morgan Charrière in an event that features eight professional and five amateur fights.

Saturday night finishes off with a return to Uncasville in Connecticut as the conclusion of the welterweight world grand prix reaches its end point. With a cool $1,000,000 up for grabs, defending champion Rory MacDonald meets Douglas Lima in the Bellator 232 main event. In what is a rematch of the fight that saw MacDonald claim welterweight gold, Lima will be looking to extract revenge following the five-round unanimous defeat in January last year.
