Holloway v Volkanovski confirmed for UFC 245

It was earlier confirmed that Max Holloway will make his fourth defence of the featherweight title when he meets Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 245 in December.

After successfully defending his belt against Frankie Edgar, Brian Ortega and José Aldo, Max Holloway (21-4) is looking to see out 2019 in style after unsuccessfully attempting to take the interim lightweight title following defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 236 in April.

In Alexander Volkanovski (20-1), Holloway is facing a man on the ascendancy within the UFC. On a 7-0 streak since joining the UFC in 2016 and an impressive overall win streak of 17-0, Volkanovski has seen off José Aldo, Chad Mendes and Darren Elkins in his previous three fights to earn his shot at the featherweight title.

UFC 245 takes place on Saturday 14th December at the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Other confirmed fights include bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes vs Germaine de Randamie, Robbie Lawler vs Santiago Ponzinibbio, Jessica Eye vs Viviane Araújo and Matt Brown vs Ben Saunders.
